With Councilman Bill Cobabe’s recent acceptance of a job outside of the county, there is currently a city council vacancy that must be filled within 30 days of his departure.
Now is the time to dip your foot in and test the waters of serving your community in this capacity as the appointee’s position will be up for re-election just four short months later.
Candidate filing period ends Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. Declaration of Candidacy Forms or Nomination Petitions must be filed in person with the City Recorder at 90 West Young Street, Morgan, Utah between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Candidates must be a United States Citizen, be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter of the municipality, be a resident of Morgan City or recently annexed area for a period of 365 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of the election and must be mentally competent with no felony convictions.
