Kobe wins school geographic bee

David Kobe, a student at Morgan Middle School, not only won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on Jan. 23, 2017, he also has earned a chance at a $50,000 college scholarship.  The school-level bee, at which students answered oral and written questions on geography, was the first round in the annual National Geographic Bee Competition.

Other students participating in the final competition  included Brayden Noorda, Ryker Adams, Carter Field, James Erickson, Kyler Hatfield, Kristi Bledsoe, Ben Hadley and Jackson Woolsey.   At the end of the final round  David Kobe had taken first place with Ben Hadley taking second and Kyler Hatfield taking third place.

David will now take a written test to see if he will be eligible to compete in the State Bee on March 31, 2017.  State champions will then compete in Washington, D.C. and the winner will receive a $50,000 college scholarship.

Congratulations, David, and good luck!
