FFA students place third in state-wide competition

Members of the Morgan FFA Chapter were one of 20 teams to compete in the Utah Council of Farmer Co-operatives “Co-op Quiz” event on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017. This event was held at the Mountain Land Applied Technology College in Lehi, Utah, and is open to all FFA chapters in the state. The Morgan team placed third overall.

The Utah Council of Farmer Cooperatives conducts the annual FFA Co-op Quiz generally in early October. A maximum of three members from each chapter are encouraged to compete for cash scholarships of $150, $100 and $50 to the top three scoring individuals.  In addition the top scoring individual is offered a scholarship to attend the FFA Washington Leadership Conference during the following summer.  The scholarship is for travel and registration expenses up to $1,000.

Chapter awards are also presented.   The scores of all individuals from a chapter are added together and cash prizes of $150, $100 and $50 are presented to the chapter with the best combined scores.

This event is free for FFA members to attend courtesy of the Utah Council of Farmer Co-operatives. It provides FFA members a great networking opportunity with leaders in agriculture throughout the state.
