While Morgan County struggles with a property tax hike, the new $5 million 911 dispatch center that tax increase will help fund opened to the public in October. The 8,400 square foot facility now has enough room that one call doesn’t bleed over to others because employees sat so close in the former 3,000 square foot facility. It also has enough consoles that non-emergency calls will not have to be put on hold during shift changes. On average, the facility helps handle 1,000 calls each day.
