Congratulations to Kade Buchanan, who has earned his Eagle Scout award. Kade will be receiving his award at an Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the Rock Church.
Kade’s Eagle Project was to install a soccer net backstop on the north side of the Morgan High School soccer field by the river. Many soccer balls have been lost into the river due to no netting behind the goal, which then in turn costs the school money to replace them and causes litter in the river.
After digging the holes for the posts, Kade and his volunteer helpers cleaned up all of the trash that was on the MHS soccer field and took down the nets that were on the south side of the field for winter. Kade has a love for soccer and felt this would be a huge benefit to those who play soccer there.
“I would like to thank Geneva Rock for their generous donation that helped me purchase the cement, gravel and items needed for my project. I would also like to thank many who donated tools, equipment and their time to my Eagle Project. This has been a lot of hard work to get to my Eagle, and I want to thank everyone who has helped me all along my way,” Kade Buchanan stated.
