Morgan County Fire asks for residents participation in creating a Community Wildfire Protections Plan (CWPP)

A Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) aimed at reducing risks from wildfires in your community is being created over the next few months. The plan will cover the Morgan area. This plan will be prepared by a citizen-based committee with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands and the Morgan County Fire Department as technical advisors.

CWPPs are the primary method of planning, preparing and educating residents to reduce the risks and dangers associated with wildfire; they are used to organize and direct individual and community efforts as they prepare for wildfire. Through the utilization of the CWPP process, you can have a direct impact on fire behavior around your home and in your community.

The CWPP process provides an opportunity for citizen input on planning the response to and prevention of wildfires that will affect their community. It is the committee that will be directly involved in forming plans and procedures for all aspects of wildfire in their community. Therefore, your participation is needed in order for this process to succeed.

The Morgan County Fire Department would like to invite interested citizens of the Morgan Community to give input and join our Community Wildfire Protection Planning committee. The Meeting is at the East Canyon Resort Event Center building 8896 South Hwy 65.  On Wednesday , Oct 24, 2018 at 6:00 pm.

Thank you for your time and we hope to see you there!
