The 2017-2018 Girl’s Basketball team had mixed success. Their overall record was 15-11, but their region record was an impressive 7-1. They were knocked out in the second round in the state tournament by Richfield High. However, they went on to win the consolation bracket and took fifth overall.
The 2018-2019 season will be full of new beginnings for the Lady Trojan Basketball team. A new coach, with a new game plan. Coach Mack is new to Morgan High, but has a lot of previous coaching experience. Coaching at Morgan High started earlier this year, while working with the Varsity Football team. He is enthusiastic about the Girl’s 2018 season. His plan for a successful year, “Through it all my team has to stick together because times will be great, but times will be not so great as well. When things are going good we have to stay humble, and when things are going bad, we have to accept that blessing to learn!”
The Lady Trojans do not have any returning starters this season, but have several players who saw varsity time last year. When asked who his key players are, Coach Mack replied, “Watch out for all of them, because they are on a mission to win a title. This is a special group of girls and a special community. The bond is like no other.”
The Girl’s first game will be at Park City on November 20th.
