A local group of Morgan baseball players had a strong showing in the Ogden City Fall Baseball League which ran for six weeks from the first of September to mid-October. The team competed in the 16-18 age division and finished with a record of seven wins against six losses while placing third in the season ending tournament. The eight-team league hosted players from Morgan, Davis, Northridge (two teams), Ben Lomond, Green Canyon (North Logan), Malad (ID), and the greater Ogden area.
Morgan’s team included: Garrett Spens, Porter Brenchley, Joe Zink, Colton Hatt, Bode Fife, Alex Harden, Sammy Snyder, Ty Birkeland, Porter Hales, Gage Adams, Jaren Stuart, and Ashton Lindley. The team was coached by Trevor Lindley and Jed Stuart with great parent support throughout the season.
Everyone associated with baseball in Morgan is excited to welcome new high school coach Jed Stuart to the program. Players, coaches, and parents are working hard to help the boys improve their play, be competitive, and have fun doing it. If any parents or prospective players have questions about the upcoming high school season or want to know how to help the baseball program at Morgan High, please contact coach Jed Stuart at 801-821-6008. Winter open gym workouts for baseball start November 5 and will go every Monday and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in the Trojan Century Center.
