Jenny was born at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. She was born into a family of six children that consists of two sisters and three brothers. She has lived in Morgan her entire life and attended the schools here. She grew up in North Morgan and later purchased her family property. She now lives in her childhood home.
Jenny graduated from Morgan High School. While in school, she participated in both choir and band. One of her favorite teachers was Mr. Hugh Davis. He taught her science, how to drive, and a lot of other things.
After graduation, Jenny married Jim Barker, and they have four children. Jenny was taught to work hard from a young age by her dad. According to Jenny, “working hard is a Pentz family trait.”
Jenny worked various jobs while raising her children. Once her children were raised, she began working for the Morgan School District six years ago as a summer and night-time custodian at Morgan Middle School. The faculty and staff at MMS appreciate all of Jenny’s hard work. Mrs. Morrell said, “Mrs. Barker goes above and beyond cleaning my classroom, the pillows and chairs are always neat and organized. A little piece of my heart gets happy and it starts my day off right. Mrs. Barker is an extremely hard worker and does an awesome job at MMS.”
When Jenny is not working at school, she enjoys walking and hiking, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her thirteen grandchildren. One thing that nobody knows about Jenny is that someday she would like to learn how to mountain climb.
