Morgan Middle School Geography Bee

Morgan, UT, January 28, 2019—Ben Hadley, a student at Morgan Middle School, not only won the school-level competition oaf the National Geographic Bee on January 28, 2019 he also has earned a chance at a $50,000 college scholarship.  The school-level Bee, at which students answered oral and written questions on geography, was the first round in the annual National Geographic Bee Competition.  

Other students participating in the final competition included; Mazlynn Bailey, Avery Earl, Harrison Harmer, Ben Hadley, Jakob Elkins, Connor Smith, Hannah Cantrell, Katelyn Steel, Nathan Howe, and Ava Rees with Emmory Morrell as alternate.   At the end of the final round Ben Hadley had taken 1st place with Ava Reese taking 2nd and Hannah Cantrell taking 3rd place. 

   Ben will now take a written test to see if he will be eligible to compete in the State Bee on March 29, 2019.  State champions will then compete in Washington, D.C. in May and the winner will receive a $50,000 college scholarship.
